Brad temkinUntitled VIII, 2007, location unknown
Chicago photographer, Brad Temkin, here captures a pool of melting ice. Temkin centers this piece on environmental issues, resonating the concern of the melting ice caps. This is illustrative of the form of earth art that evokes a message to observe. If Temkin is thinking what I'm thinking, we should all combat global warming and protect this great medium through which art and life are produced.

This is a very cool picture! I didn't even think it was ice at first. I agree with you about how this image, and others, should make us want to do something about melting ice caps and the disappearance of habitats for animals and plants that can only live in these affected areas.
Images are often better communicators than words for these issues. It's easy to bore people with measurements and analysis. Especially if it's in an area they don't live, people respond better when they can see images of destruction.
This picture almost seems unreal. I thought it was phake at first, I thinks its really provocative conveys a good message.
